After Famke Louise was named Dom Bontje of 2018 in 2019, she decided to look into the issue in greater depth. This led to a collaboration with the Bont voor Dieren foundation. Famke then travelled to China with animal rights activists Thomas Gainard and Jenny Tang to investigate the background of the fur trade in greater depth and thus expose the fur industry. In the documentary, they visit shops selling fur coats, as well as markets where fur is sold in large piles as skins. Later, they also visit a breeding farm and a slaughterhouse, where footage is captured of animals being skinned whilst still twitching. The documentary won awards at the Social Awards for ‘Best Positive Impact’ and ‘Best Launch’.
